Flying with a Purpose
Having been blessed to be able to acquire a jet, Bob Briggs looked for an outlet where he could best serve the community using his jet. He said, “It was about time for me to do something for somebody else. We live in the St. Jude’s Hospital vicinity. My brother died of leukemia before his 17th birthday. There was a mission in mind—not just for children but for anyone with cancer-related maladies.”
He soon discovered Angel Flight Groups and is now affiliated with 9 different compassion groups. Bob says, “I’ve been actively flying missions since 2019. I have found a niche.”
Bob has flown dozens of flights transporting seriously ill patients at no charge from hospitals around the country. Most of the patient flights on his Citation CJ1 are to and from the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for appointments and treatments.
For his efforts, Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic named him Tennessee Pilot of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
Angel Flight organizations are located all over the country. There are many geographically centered in an area close to you. We encourage you to look for one that works best for you! Below are the FINEST with whom you should apply and serve:
The organizations below, I can NOT recommend any longer, due to MY experience of a series of 100% baseless rumors, gossip, defamation, libel, slanderous behaviors and HIPPA violations. BEWARE!!!! I CAUTION against any consideration and recommend avoiding the following organizations of ACA (the Air Charity Network). Specifically, based on MY recent experience, although having been previously affiliated, the following:
Angel Flight West
Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic
Angel Flight Central
Angel Flight Southeast
Angel Flight South Central
